How we're funded.

What we don't do

• —Paid listings: tool makers cannot pay to be listed.
• —Paid placement: nobody can pay to be featured, ranked higher or included in a comparison.
• —Sponsored content: no article on this site is paid for.
• —Affiliate links: links to tools are plain links. We earn nothing when you click or buy.
• —Advertising: the site shows no ads.

Which tools are listed, featured or recommended is an editorial decision, explained in our methodology. Submitting a tool is free.

If that ever changes

If we start earning money from the tools we cover, we will disclose it where you make the decision, as the U.S. FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR Part 255) and UK advertising rules require, not just on this page:

• —Sponsored articles will say “Sponsored” in the title and at the top of the page.
• —Paid or affiliate links will be marked next to the link and carry rel="sponsored".
• —A paid listing will be labelled on the listing itself, never only on this page.
• —Payment will never decide whether a tool is listed or where it ranks.
• —This page will be updated, with the date, before any of it goes live.
